capacitor, run
A good capacitor should not be swollen, and will sit flat on a surface.

Run capacitors match the induced voltage created by the motor to lower the current draw by the motor.

They fail mainly due to heat.In most cases the capacitor will have a bulge on top and bottom.Just set it on a flat surface and note the way it stands. This bulging is caused by the expanding gas inside which will cause the fuse links to break and fail.

Capacitors tend to have a residual charge after removal of wires and should be handled carefully.
